Tao Of The Gigolo Vin Armani Sean D'Anconia 9781468036473 Books Reviews
- Imagine a world where there is no need for lying or cheating in relationships because both parties are open and free to pursue what pleases and fulfills them, based in trust and respect and creating space for deep and true connection for a brief time or for a life time. This is the world that Vin Armani not only envisions, but lives in. Our society would be a happier, healthier, more sexually and emotionally fulfilled place if we all followed suit. This is a very thoughtful and thought-provoking treatise.
- Take what you learn in a business ethics course, mix in a little economics, evolutionary biology, and philosophy and apply it vaguely to romantic relationships and keep it within 100 pages long, all written by James Bond and Yoda.
I found it pretty dry, although the author did have some good points. For those interested in a how to manual, look elsewhere. - Tao of the Gigolo is thoughtful, thought provoking and honest. Whether the reader agrees with Armani's view point personally, the author presents his philosophies and ideals in a respectful, straight forward and open manner, giving the reader a candid look into Armani's beliefs. Tao of the Gigolo is a perfect example of how one should write creative non-fiction. I most definitely would recommend this book to others.
- It's a rare read to find, especially if you want to excel as a gigolo manifesto.
Sometimes, I try to compare myself to a sports team, that has so-so nights to great nights in the NightLife.
What Vin explains reflect clearly most of my past fallouts, past relationships that went sideways, "what's supposed to be" & "what is."
I feel that I share some really close philosophies, other than the fact that I want to resist the urge to quit or take a break, when things don't go right.
Thanks Vin, and don't be a stranger! - Tao Of The Gigolo is not the read I feared. It does not delve into a pseudo-academic psychoanalyses of the women who retain the services of male escorts, and it is not a "how to" for the aspiring gigolo. Tao is more of a philosophical discussion about relationships and given the word "relationship" and what constitutes romantic love carry different freight for different people; Tao offers more for those approaching it with intellectual and emotional curiosity. While written almost exclusively for men, the female reader who struggles with understanding and achieving a modicum of success with the male human stands to benefit from it. For men interested in mastering the art of manliness and seduction, Tao should be your bible. Those skimming the rich narrative in search of five bullet points to score a hook-up needn't bother.
Tao Of The Gigolo - Not the kind of reading you would think based on the title. I totally enjoyed reading it.. Very intellectual and yet very pleasant; some paragraphs made me smile and chuckle reading it.
Loved the Dominance and Simplicity and Complexity, Ease and Difficulty sections... Loved the usage of Latin philosophical terms and associations. (by the way, unless you are extremely educated, I suggest reading it on a so you can easily dictionary it; there are plenty of grandiose words author threw in there.) - I learned a lot about the art of seduction. I followed Vin on Gigolos and I hope he writes another book. I’d love to read it.
- He obviously have his book a lot of thought and wanted very much to create something of value. At some points he came off as self-righteous and he was very 'general' in his statements, so one could have been reading a book on 'Zen' or 'Tao of Life' or 'The Obstacle is the Way.'
