"Throughout the third and final book, I had qualms with where I thought the story was at any given point. That being said, I wasn't expecting the greatest finish to the series that started out so strong with Tick's journey. Tick's scarf and birthmark used to be big deals, and seeing those human aspects gone made me think that the series had twisted away in an attempt to catch up with the aspect of Chi Karda. The ending, though, brought that human aspect back and brought the series to a great conclusion that makes me wish there was another book. Overall, it's a series I won't forget anytime soon."

• Doing a pre-read before my 11 yr old boy reads, I have to say, hooked in the first book. Great read, and so far no vampire, demon, witchcrafty stuff, which is so hard to find for young readers now adays. By the 2nd book, lots of twists and turns....very "actionous" ( as my boy puts it), suspenseful and cliff hangey, Good job.

• This series and author are a hit in the 6th grade class! the kids are swapping books are talking about them. Good author!!!!
• Purchased entire set for my 10 year old grandson! He spent many sleepless nights reading these books! Hard to get up in the morning! He loved the entire series and read all within a 2 week period because he could not put the books down!
• My grandson and I are reading them at the same time. He is enjoying them. I am not a 13 year old and I love the books as well.
• It is so hard to find books aimed toward boys. This set is one that I found has kept my 12 year old son's attention. He is an avid reader and says that he loves this series. He was also able to read these and take AR tests at school with them.
• I read the first book with the kids (ages between 5 and 12) and we were all anxious to get this second installment. It was so much more intense than the first one. It had great plot twists and reveals, but it was almost too intense for me to read aloud. Almost. My kids completely loved it. They were on the edges of their seats practically the whole time; and when we weren't reading it, they were discussing with each other what might happen next. Time to buy the third book - because if I don't, I'm going to have a mutiny on my hands.
• This book was such an unexpected pleasure to read. Dashner's themes of self-discovery and the power within were expertly deployed. But I must confess that my favorite aspect of this book was the relationship between Tick and his family. As I started to mentally review other books I've enjoyed in this genre, I couldn't come up with a single other book that represented an in-tact, supportive, close-knit family. What a gem! I look forward to reading many more of Dashner's books and having my children read them as well. Excellent!!!
