Chesapeake Shores has always represented home and family for the O’Briens, but in Lilac Lane, the community extends its healing powers to a woman recovering from overwhelming grief
Single mom Kiera Malone struggled for years to raise her three children in a small town on the coast of Ireland. Just when she’s let down her guard and allowed herself to love again, her fiancé suffers a fatal heart attack and leaves her alone yet again. Overwhelmed by her loss, she’s persuaded to visit her father, Dillon O’Malley, and her daughter, Moira O’Brien, in Chesapeake Shores. With the promise of family ties and a job at O’Brien’s, her son-in-law’s Irish pub, she takes what seems like the biggest risk of her life.
As it turns out, though, crossing the ocean is nothing compared to moving into a charming cottage on Lilac Lane, right next door to Bryan Laramie, the moody chef at O’Brien’s, who doesn’t do anything the way Kiera believes it should be done. Their kitchen wars quickly become the stuff of legend in Chesapeake Shores, and the town’s matchmakers conclude that where there’s heat, there’s sure to be passion.
As these two deal with their wounded pasts and discover common interests, they might just find the perfect recipe for love.

Lilac Lane A Chesapeake Shores Novel Sherryl Woods 9780778308171 Books Reviews
- I have to admit to being shocked by the super positive views. (I admit to even being suspicious of if they were real!) There is nothing technically wrong with this book. The setting is charming. Grammar is correct, syntax, spelling....I wanted to like it. I actually wanted to love it. I didn't like Keira (at all). Everyone else was wooden. No depth. No chemistry. The relationships and interactions with Deanna were like simply reading a "script". I didn't care at all about any of them. I read it, I finished it but it was a task, not a pleasure. Given also the high-ish price for it, it was a bad choice. I'd skip it if I had it to do over.
- The last, but hopefully not the final, story of Chesapeake Shores proves again that love always wins. When a fall festival puts the pub chef against the pub's authentic Irish consultant in a cooking competition featuring Irish stew, things heat up in more ways than one! Lilac Lane also proves that family is powerful, even when it's several degrees removed.
Let's hope Woods continues the Chesapeake Shores stories. They're also fun to picture the characters from the show. I will miss reading about these characters! - Not nearly as good as the earlier Chesapeake Shores series. It felt like she was trying to push one more book out of the series
- I have enjoyed all 5 the Chesapeake Shores. Series of books. What I have not agreed with us how the t.v. series has changed the characters, what they do and how interact. The author should have the control over her work. Keep up the good work in your writing.
- Good book. I have read all the other books about the O'Brien family and enjoyed going back and revisiting in this one. Need another one to see if .Bryan and Deanna get to open restaurant and how Deanna grows closer to her dad
- Sherryl Woods does it again. A great book to get cozy with on a cold Winters day. You will not be disappointed. I look forward to these characters joining the Chesapeake Shores community .
- This book was an excellent continuation of the Chesapeake Shores family story. Great new and familiar characters blend seamlessly in a story of new love and reconected family. It was fun to read about the O'Brien family meddling in the lives ( and love lives!) of these two new additions to the Chesapeake Shores mix. Highly recommended!
- Love Sheryl Woods books. Each book takes me back to a community full of life. Some history, family meddling, and best of all - love is found in different forms. Kiera and Bryan have their handful in Chesapeake Shores with the O’Briens. Family who want them to be together despite themselves. Enjoy and love!
